A tender specification is a promise you will have to verify. The adjectives that measure nothing, the bamboo properties that can be checked with an instrument, the acceptance sampling that settles disputes in advance — and the documentation lines most tenders forget.
Acceptance sampling proves the lot, not the unit. How ISO 2859-1 logic applies to bamboo, the material-specific checkpoints a generic checklist misses, and the inspection brief that produces findings you can act on.
Mould on a bamboo shipment is a moisture budget problem with published thresholds. Why a 10% product can still arrive mouldy, why desiccant fails, and what to check before the doors close.
Most bad bamboo suppliers are exposed not by certifications but by how they answer seven ordinary questions. Use them in the first exchange — before samples, before deposits — and score the answers, because what a supplier cannot explain is what will arrive in your container.
Most transit damage on bamboo goods is not caused by the ship. It is caused by wood that left the factory with the wrong moisture content and met a different climate on arrival. What to specify, what to measure, and what to put in the container besides the goods.
